Indispensible to the traveler, and absurdly stylish to boot, these goggles will stand up to even the boldest adventures.
Rims are black-painted brass, with a velvet felt-lined interior for comfort. Lenses are greenish-yellow tinted to shield from sun, wind and glare. Cotton tie straps are non-elasticized. Comes complete with a storage tin for protection in the off season.
The industrious individual can strip the black paint to reveal a bright brass finish, as shown in the alternate view. We used a dremel tool with a brass brush, and it made quick work of the black paint.
Please note: these goggles are genuine military surplus, so the storage tins are aged and a bit dented. The goggles may have minor blemishes, but are fully functional with unmarred lenses. Not intended for use as safety goggles.
Loved them and my son loved them. They are a perfect period peice. My only disappointment was that the rim of the goggles was not the brass color, making them look even older. But all in all - outstanding.
Another Swell Product!

The goggles are really neat! They arrived with their own metal tin and are very authentic. The tint is very dark so it's a little hard to see through them, but there's nothing worse than having a bunch of SPADs attack you from out of the sun! A great product!

Goggle glass and mounting is very good, but the straps were very old and decayed and could be ripped into bits just by a little pulling on them.

These look so great tied to my derby hat I also purchased. The only problem was the fabric tie-cord broke twice in the first minute of attaching them to my hat, this is fine because it is a two minute job to repair ir replace them. Otherwise, for a vintage item I was really pleased with the quality.
Also dremelled off the paint

I bought these goggles based on the advice that the paint could be removed revealing shiny brass goggles. It definitely worked! I used a dremel to remove the paint from the outside, then replaced the cheesy strap with some $0.50 elastic and a few brass rivets. The resulting goggles looked great and are by far the least expensive way to get real metal brass goggles. The only reason I rated these a 4 is that the process was fairly time consuming. If you could buy them in their brass state, they'd be a 5.
A nice little package

These arrived in a very nice worn oval tin, which keeps them safe. The glass lenses tint everything a shade of green and their chipped black paint suggests they've had a bit of a life. That said, there's nothing wrong with them, although I did have to adjust the nose strap so that they sat straight on my face, an easy fix. These goggles have fabric straps which must be tied to put them on. They would suit a military driver or pilot look, but they do knock back the peripheral vision a bit.

Once the paint had been removed and the brass polished and lacquered to a mirror shine, these highly cost-efficient goggles made the perfect accoutrement to my Sola Topi, and certainly helped me to cut a dash at the Epsom Derby (q.v.) in June

I have purchased several of these over the past few years and I have found them all to look good, however the actual quality is all over the board. I've found that in general the paint on all goggle pairs I've received has degraded to the point where the brass beneath is visible in spots. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but this isn't clear from the description or pictures. I have also noticed that the straps tend to be weak and frayed, with a life span of no more than two years max if worn more than once a month. That said they are replaceable. Finally the velvet lining tends to be aged as well, within a few dozen wears I find that the lining tends to wear out and the goggles get progressively less comfortable as more of the...

This was the only place where we were able to find the kind of high-quality Victorian-style men's clothes we were looking for. The price was very reasonable for the level of workmanship too.
